What is Youthline

Find out about us

Youthline is a collection of organisations that work together to make sure young people are able to get the best support, when they need it. We work with young people, their familes and those supporting young people. Our organisations are made up of volunteer and paid staff members - and we have centres based across the country, including four centres in the Auckland region covering the North Shore, Auckland Central, Manukau and Waitakere.

Youthline Auckland was proudly established in 1970 by a group of people who realised that there were not a lot of options for young people needing to access help and development services. Across Auckland, Youthline employs over 80 full time paid staff and 380 volunteer staff, and our Auckland Central centre is home to 50 full time paid staff and over 300 volunteer staff, as well as a number of community organisations that call Youthline Auckland Central home.

We understand that sometimes it can be difficult asking for support. It can also be difficult working out who to contact for what. To make sure it's as easy as possible to use our services, and other services who work with young people, we make sure that we have good relationships across the country with other providers so that we can point you in the direction of local services.

We are the first point of entry for young people to access a wide range of youth development and support services, and we work hard to acheive our vision of creating communities which relate to the needs of young people, respond to them, and support them to achieve their potential.
